Position Overview
The OUTCOME Study is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Study and Data Coordinator to join our team and play a crucial role in a project focused on investigating treatment outcomes for drug resistant TB among children in Nigeria. The successful candidate will work closely with the principal investigators, site study staff, healthcare providers and key stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day coordination and management of the OUTCOME Study.
- Collaborate with the research team to develop and refine project objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
- Ensure that project activities are executed in compliance with ethical guidelines and regulations.
- Oversee study site research assistants in enrollment and follow up of study participants.
- Maintain the REDCap database for the study, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Liaise with study site staff and laboratory stakeholders, and IHVN Biorepository staff to ensure adequate sample transportation and storage for samples.
- Work with study research assistants and data assistants to ensure data accuracy, data management, error identification and correction are conducted routinely.
- Responsible for system/account maintenance for site staff to access the REDCap web portal and other data management applications.
- Conduct data quality assurance activities for the study sites.
- Prepare regular progress reports and contribute to research publications.
- Participate in team meetings and provide input on project strategies and goals
Educational qualifications and experience
- Minimum of a master’s degree in public health, life sciences, physical sciences or a related field
- Previous experience in implementing and supporting research projects.
- Demonstrable experience in clinical/public health research (with at least one accepted conference abstract or journal paper)
- Previous training in health research ethics.
- Experience with REDCap, Microsoft Excel, Stata, R and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
