CALIBRATION OF LABORATORY INSTRUMENTS

  1. Introduction

The Institute of Human Virology, Nigeria (IHVN) is a leading local non-governmental organization implementing HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, Malaria, Research and non-communicable disease projects in Nigeria through the development of infrastructure for treatment, care, prevention, and support for people living with and those affected by these diseases.

  • Purpose of RFB

The purpose of this request is to solicit for bids to facilitate the calibration of Laboratory instruments with oversight from Institute of Human Virology-Nigeria.

  • Invitations for Expression of Interests and Bidding

IHVN is soliciting for interests from reputable service providers, suppliers and organizations with relevant experience in carrying out services listed on our RFB during the project implementation period.

To be eligible to participate in the bidding process, interested organization are required to provide the following information:

  • Signed Cover Letter indicating;
  • Company Profile;
  •    Proof of registration with Corporate Affairs Commission CAC;
  • All Bidders must include copies of tax clearance certificates for the past three years. i.e. 2017,2018, 2019 & 2020 if readily available;
  • Verifiable evidence of completing similar jobs successfully in the last 5 years;
  • Expert knowledge and demonstrable working experience on Calibration of Laboratory instruments;
  • Technical and human resource capacity and ability to deliver quality job within agreed timelines;
  • Bank Reference Letter;
  • All bidders must indicate their bid validity period. The bid validity period will be 90 days,
  • Submission Requirements
  • All bids must be in ink or type written; submission in pencil will not be accepted.
  • Cost Proposal:IHVN desires that bidders to provide bid formatted in the templates in the BOQ. Bids must be in Nigerian Naira.
  • Delivery Information:Delivery period should be stated in line with the expected project performance period
  • Bid must be in Company’s Letter head, duly signed and stamped by an authorized company representative

  • Bids which must reach us within two (2) weeks from the date of this publication should have the title of the BID written on the “Top Left Hand Corner” of the envelope.

Program Officer Adult Art (Three)

The Institute of Human Virology (IHVN) is a leading and reputable non-governmental organization addressing infectious and non-infectious diseases such as HIV, tuberculosis and cancer through the provision of prevention, diagnosis, treatment, capacity building, research, and care and support services. IHVN is in partnership with local and international organizations and the different tiers of the government of Nigeria at national, state and local levels. To drive quality and engender global best practices in HIV and TB care and treatment, IHVN is seeking for qualified candidates for the following position:

PROGRAM OFFICER ADULT ART (three)

Full Time

DEPARTMENT: Prevention Care and Treatment                                                 

UNIT : Adult ART

JOB LOCATION: Central Office (Abuja) and Nasarawa

Opening Date: 27th May 2021.
Closing Date: 11th June 2021.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performing Quality Improvement and program evaluation, monitoring and administrative support.
  • Providing quality of care assessment and ensuring that patients in health facilities receive high-quality comprehensive care and treatment according to recommended guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Bridging the “know-do gap” in program implementation across sites.
  • Working with health facility staff and focal persons and colleagues to effectively address operational challenges (including service logistics, staffing shortages, training needs and commodity supply).
  • Identifying implementation bottlenecks in the Adult ART program across sites and proffer solutions.
  • Ensuring strong linkages within the ART program at site level e.g. between HIV Counseling Testing Areas and Clinic, Laboratory and Clinic, referral between the PMTCT and the Adult Clinic.
  • Establishing measures to assess impact of our program in the community.
  • Participating in quality improvement, report writing and collation and, data analysis.
  • Reporting all activities to the Senior Program Officer Adult ART, Program Manager Adult ART, Technical Advisor Adult ART and the Director/Head, Clinical Services Department.
  • Adhering and abiding by the ethics and code of conduct of the Institute.
  • Carrying out any other duties/ assignments as directed by supervisors, program area leads and the Director Prevention Care and Treatment Department.

Qualifications:

Education: A minimum of University degree in Medicine. MPH or related Master’s degree is an added advantage.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Good communication (oral and written) and facilitation skills with proficiency in the computer programming – Word processing, spreadsheet, presentation skills are required.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, good inter and intrapersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in program narrative and proposal writing.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet organizational targets/goals.
  • Ability to evaluate data and prepare quality reports often under pressure and in complex situations.
  • Being goal oriented with ability to plan and organize, make decisions, manage time and practice critical thinking.

Prior Work Experience: A minimum of 5 years professional level experience managing public health and health delivery with emphasis on TBHIV, care and treatment. She/he must have experience working with PEPFAR funded care and treatment program. Demonstrated experience in the design, implementation, and management of HIV care and treatment programs.

Language Proficiency: English language (high proficiency in verbal and written expression)

Job Knowledge: Familiarity with the broad range of care and treatment issues. Understanding of the major issues affecting care and treatment with knowledge of the implementation of care and treatment programs in Nigeria.

Senior Program Officer Prevention Care And Treatment

SENIOR PROGRAM OFFICER PREVENTION CARE AND TREATMENT

Full Time

DEPARTMENT: Prevention Care and Treatment (PCT)

JOB LOCATION: Central Office, Abuja.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performance review through program and data analysis with immediate feedback to appropriate staff of the department for prompt follow up.
  • Collaboration with PCT and Strategic Information department to address identified challenges.
  • Program quarterly, semi-annual and annual report writing.
  • Writing continuation applications and grant proposals.
  • Abstract and manuscript writing of program implementation.
  • Providing technical support for multidisciplinary HIV/AIDS care and treatment, working clinicians and health facility-based site teams to implement care and treatment services especially in adult antiretroviral treatment.
  • Actualizing various strategies at the national to facility-level according to the program component area.
  • Executing component area strategies through mentoring, supervision and technical assistance to local partner’s in-country.
  • Participating in United State Government, Federal Ministry of Health, and other external partner technical meetings, as assigned.
  • Attending technical, expanded leads, program area, departmental and regional meetings.
  • Providing feedback, progress update, performance achievement, and analysis as required.
  • Meeting project management, financial reporting, and program area performance measurement requirements.
  • Providing capacity building, mentoring and hands-on supervision of doctors, pharmacist, laboratory scientists & nurses on HIV Counseling and Testing, care and treatment.
  • Attending and making presentations at scientific meetings.
  • Reporting all activities to the Director/Head, Prevention Care and Treatment Department.
  • Adhering and abiding by the ethics and code of conduct of the Institute.
  • Carrying out any other duties/ assignments as directed by the Director Clinical Services department.

QUALIFICATION:

Education: A University degree in Medicine with an MPH or related Master’s degree.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong program narrative report writing and grant proposal writing skills.
  • Proficiency with data analysis including use of RStudio and other data analysis software is a requirement.
  • Familiarity with PEPFAR electronic reporting platforms like NMRS and NDR.
  • Good communication (oral and written) and facilitation skills with proficiency in the computer programming – Word processing, spreadsheet, presentation skills are required.
  • Ability/capacity to develop and design TBHIV, care and treatment strategic plan.
  • High quality narrative report writing and understanding of project management principles.
  • Good inter and intrapersonal communication skills.
  • Goal oriented with ability to work under pressure to meet organizational targets/goals.

Project Set to Improve Nutrition in Kano State

IHVN Chief Operating Officer/ Managing Director, Dr Charles Olalekan Mensah, signing the contract documents for ANRiN project implementation in Kano State. Also present is the Permanent Secretary, Kano State Ministry of Health Hajia Amina. A. Musa, and staff of the ministry.

At an inauguration ceremony held at the IHVN Head Office in Abuja, IHVN Senior Program Officer Prevention, Care and Treatment, Mrs. Laurentia Dashe, said that the multidisciplinary team will bring valuable experience in keeping children safe, healthy, schooled and stable.
