Finance Data Assistant | Lagos State

The Institute of Human Virology (IHVN) is a leading and reputable non-governmental organization addressing infectious and non-infectious diseases such as HIV, tuberculosis, and cancer by providing prevention, diagnosis, treatment, capacity building, research, care, and support services. IHVN is in partnership with local and international organizations and the different tiers of the government of Nigeria at the national, state, and local levels. The Facility and Community Based Service Delivery Support (FC SDS) Project is a United States Department of States-funded project through Stop TB Partnership Geneva, that is a revolutionary program working with communities, facilities, and relevant State and National structures to improve access to TB case finding, diagnosis, treatment, and notification in Lagos, Ogun, Osun, and Oyo States; as well as increase domestic financing for TB and strengthen surveillance and integrated reporting across five Strategic Objectives:

  1. REACH: Maximize TB case detection in all age groups through active case finding, including facility-based screening, contact investigation, community mobilization and screening, and strengthening the TB diagnostic network.
  2. CURE: Support timely treatment initiation, adherence, and completion, especially among DR-TB cases.
  3. PREVENT: Reduce the risk of transmission through expansion of access to TB preventive treatment (TPT), infection control, and stigma reduction.
  4. INNOVATE: Incorporate and scale up new tools and approaches such as digital chest X-rays with computer-aided diagnostics, hotspot mapping, and molecular diagnostics.
  5. SUSTAIN: Strengthen state and LGA capacity to institutionalize domestic resource mobilization and leverage government structures for sustainable program ownership.

It is to this end that IHVN is seeking to fill the following positions:

Responsibilities:

  • Administration of payments (Preparation of payment vouchers, transfer instructions, etc.) and Preparation of monthly bank reconciliation statements.
  • Timely Capturing of state office Vouchers into the state financial reporting templates.
  • Preparation of the Monthly bank reconciliation of the state office cashbooks.
  • Perform Collation and filling of financial documents, vouchers, and supporting evidence in line with cashbook printouts on a periodic basis.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisors.

Minimum Requirements

  • Possession of a B.Sc. in Accountancy or Higher National Diploma in Accountancy or any Social science-related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years of post-qualification hands-on experience in an NGO or Grants operational environment will be an added advantage.

Skills and Abilities: 

  • Must be a self-starter with adaptability skills and able to work in a team.
  • Good working knowledge of Sage 300 ERP
  • Proficiency in the use of computer applications (Microsoft Office, etc.)
  • Analytical mind and fluency in written and oral communication.
  • Ability to relate with subordinates, colleagues, and superiors.
  • Innovative with a sound mind.
