imagesVincent Dooyan Amara is a Treatment Support Specialist at the National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development (NIPRD), Idu, where he spends time to encourage people living with HIV/AIDS to take their HIV medications. He also teaches them how to take these drugs, using himself as an example of someone who has recovered fully because of his strict adherence to his HIV medications. “When I was down, many people rejected me but when I started taking (HIV) drugs, people did not believe the change (improvement) in me.”

 

Vincent, who is married, is an active participant of a 250-member Support Group of People living with HIV/AIDS accessing treatment and care at the National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research (NIPRD) in Idu, Abuja.
