IHVN to Partner Garki Hospital on HIV/AIDS

 

The Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN) has said that it would collaborate with Garki Hospital in Abuja to provide comprehensive care for People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA). The Federal Capital Territory Regional Manager of IHVN, Dr. Benedict Mairiga mad this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). He said that the collaboration would involve HIV Counseling, testing and treatment of PLWHA. Dr. Mairiga said that IHVN would implement this partnership through its AIDS Care and Treatment in Nigeria (ACTION) project, which is funded by the US President Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). According to him, Garki Hospital is one of the major health providers in the FCT to attract its attention hence the activation of its laboratory facilities by the IHVN last Wednesday.
