| Our Institute is a leading provider of treatment, care and support for people living with HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, Malaria and other infectious diseases with headquarters in Abuja and Regional offices in Benin, Jos, Kano and the Federal Capital Territory. We require competent and result-oriented candidates to fill the position above.
SUMMARY/OVERVIEW
• He/she shall also provide coordination for pediatric HIV Care integration, including service delivery, paediatric ART training, and research. • The Officer shall assess clinical needs, and provide support and technical advice to paediatric ART and TB HIV/AIDS supportive clinical services. .
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
• Medical degree – MD, MBBS, BMChB or its equivalent with a fellowship in paediatrics; • At least 5 years in paediatric clinical practice and at least 3 years working experience in an HIV, TB and/or Malaria Programme • MPH will be an advantage. .
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Plan and manage all paediatric activities in line with COP targets and guidelines • Assist in the development of program strategies, work plans and their implementation • Participate in cohort development, quality improvement, curriculum development, and data analysis • Assist in the development, adoption and implementation of pediatric HIV and related care guidelines, tools and materials for use in the provision of ARVs at IHVN sites in Nigeria. • Analyze and set targets for sites, based on programme targets and quality of care, and work with other programme officers and thematic areas to map out strategies to achieve set programme objectives and cover gaps identified • Maintain current knowledge of pediatric HIV/AIDS standards and treatment development; conduct literature reviews for the development of tools or the provision of training curricula. • Identify training needs for continuous pediatric medical education both at the program office, Regional Office and at the program sites. • Provide training, supportive clinical and programmatic supervision across IHVN supported paediatric sites • In collaboration with other members of the Office of the Clinical and Community Programs, prepare, budget and supervise the annual, quarterly, and monthly activity plan on program implementation • Represent and communicate with internal and external partners • Provide monthly reports on programme implementation as well as other activities outlined in the central paediatric work plan and performance framework.
